After retiring from teaching French in the New Orleans immersion school, Marie Weiler started taking art courses and workshops. She is essentially self taught and credits workshops with well known artists of this area as being instrumental in her progress as a painter. She is a member of 4 local art guilds. Her medium of choice was oil but now she is experimenting with acrylics. For abstract she loves the juxtaposition of patterns, lines, shapes, textures and colors, some of them vibrant, and of course her imagination.
