MEDIUM OF CHOICE: Oil paints are my preferred medium. I also enjoy watercolors.
SUBJECT MATTER: I am inspired by many things related to south Louisiana, like seafood, swamps and cemeteries. I LOVE painting pet portraits, especially of my own pets: Beetlejuice, Suki, O. Juice and Ruth Bader Richard.
Sometimes I focus on series of paintings. For instance, each of the paintings in my Alphabet Series has still life elements that begin with the same character (Alphabet Painting “J” is a still life of a Jug, Jalapeno peppers and Jelly Beans). I am currently working on a FIESTA series, where each still life contains a piece of my mother-in-law’s vintage Fiestaware.
