MAURICE
STOCKTON III

ARTIST BIO

Maurice Stockton III
has been drawing and
painting since age three. He studied art
throughout his thirteen years at
Isidore
Newman School.
He received his BFA from
Mississippi State University in graphic
design and other emphases (other majors) in
photography and painting. Maurice has been
commissioned to paint murals at businesses
and private homes. He has regularly shown
with art organizations in the area. He has taught
in the
Jefferson Parish Talent Visual Art
Program
. Currently he has work at the
Friends of Rivertown Fine Art Gallery.

Medium: His favorite media are acrylic,
colored pencil, graphite and watercolor.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My work ranges from non-objective
abstraction to surreal imagery. The pieces are
playful. I enjoy experimenting with light and
color.
